155-mile Lamborghini Countach, original tires headed for auction

Imagine buying a factory new Lamborghini, parking it, and then not driving it for decades.

That’s basically what the owner (in this case, the owner) of this 1990 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition has done. (So did the McLaren F1., seems even crazier. )

The car with chassis number ZA9CA05A7LLA12718 has only 249 km (about 155 miles) on the odometer. It’s also fitted with his original Pirelli P Zero tires, which now would be too dangerous to drive at high speeds.

Auction house listing says mileage is a little more than delivery distance RM Sotheby’swill put the car under the hammer at the January 26th sale in Phoenix, Arizona. The car was delivered to her first owner in 1990 at just 138 kilometers (82 miles), according to the original bill of sale. The price we paid was $275,000.

The original owner owned the car for 17 years, adding 13 kilometers (8 miles) of mileage in that time. This car he returned to his original dealer in 2007 (Clark Motor Company in Heath, Ohio in this case) and then from 2010 he kept it in his collection until 2020. Current seller purchased in 2020.

Considering its remarkable condition and low mileage (probably the lowest of any Countach), this car is sure to get a lot of attention in future sales. RM Sotheby’s puts the final bid he puts between $750,000 and $1 million.

of 25th anniversary editionAs the name suggests, it was created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Lamborghini. It features a unique spoiler and modified air vents, some of which were designed by Pagani’s CEO and founder Horacio when his Pagani was still working at Lamborghini.

Propulsion is a 5.2-liter V-12 engine that puts out 455 horsepower, allowing the car to reach a top speed of 183 mph. The tires fitted were the widest fitted to a production car at the time, 225/50 front and 345/35 rear.
