World’s fastest Christmas tree reaches 192 mph thanks to 1,000 HP Hennessey Shelby GT500

Hennessy held its annual Christmas tree at the Continental Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas. Importantly, every record-challenger proved under “the impartial eyes of the jolly old St. Nick.” Or, at least, the painfully Texas version of Holiday Figures.

As a quick refresher, Hennessy Venom 1000 Based on the Shelby GT500 with fast modifications. These deliver 1,000 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. Hennessey gets there with a 2.65-liter Roots supercharger “placed on top” of his 5.2-liter V8 engine, which is huge in the car. This, in addition to the new guidance system, fuel rails, and other changes, makes for a powerful Christmas sleigh.
