GM extends running light recall to 740,000 more SUVs and trucks

The daytime running lights on many new Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Buick SUVs and trucks may not turn off when the headlights are on, dazzling oncoming drivers and causing a crash. could increase the risk of death, NHTSA said Monday.

GM dealers and service centers program the body control module with a software update. Since the service is completed free of charge and the vehicle is under warranty, the owner who previously performed the work is not eligible for a refund.
