May International Women Ride Day
Female riders from all over the world are invited Part of 16th International Women’s Ride Day (IFRD) Saturday, May 7th.
Ride Action Call “Just Ride!” Every year on the first Saturday of May, we ask women to ride their bikes or power their two-wheeled and tricycles.
IFRD was created in 2007 by Vicki Gray, a lifelong supporter of motorcycles and a road and racing instructor.
Her aim is to introduce and emphasize many diverse female riders, raise awareness and strive for women’s equality in motorcycles.
With half the population but less than 20% of the riders, many motorcycle manufacturers are promoting the day, including Harley, which has long been a growth area for women. In Australia it is as low as 12%.
Another company that greatly promotes women and encourages them to ride the IFRD is Can-Am, a manufacturer of three-wheeled spider and rider roadsters.
They organized vehicles and ambassadors in Australia, the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
CanAm Global Consumer Public Relations Brian Manning says that For them Can-Am is focused on and deeply involved in expanding women’s ridership.
“We have vehicles all over the world and we are calling on owners to take action to get out on the streets that day,” he says.
“We look forward to a lot of love from women who have come together to celebrate their mutual passion for horseback riding.”
One of the biggest horseback riding hurdles women often quote is the fear of dropping or not picking up a bike.

However, there are still hurdles that do not exist in the Can-Am Spyder family.
As a result, Can-Am claims a much higher percentage of female owners than any other brand.
More than 38% of entry levels are tricycles Can-Am Ryker The owner is a woman.
This is about twice the number of women in the United States and about three times the involvement of women in motorcycles in places such as Australia and Europe.

In Lausanne, Switzerland, a BRP office-based Can-Am team goes out to the streets to celebrate.
In Germany, the Ladies Riding Class community, which has about 30 members, also takes this opportunity to pave the way.
In Puerto Rico, singer-songwriter Karma Carmona will also be attending the “GRRRL Ride” event behind her Can-Am Ryker handlebars.
