In today’s Assen, Ducati’s Pekkobanyaia has recovered from the recent DNF succession with a compelling victory. On the podium with Banyaia, the newcomer Marco Betsecki (Ducati) took the first podium in the premier class, and Maverick Viñales moved to the Aprilia factory team to take the first podium. Championship point leader Fabio Quartararo tried to move up to second place behind Banyaia early in the race, but he crashed and knocked Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) on the gravel.
