Focus on NEV business
Automakers announced last month that they would stop producing petroleum-fueled vehicles in March and produce only NEVs in the future.
In April, NEV accounted for up to 98.6% of BYD’s total PV registrations, up 39.4 percentage points from the year-ago quarter.
BYD’s focus on the NEV business is also partly reflected in the expansion of the NEV lineup. According to the data compiled by GARI, there were a total of 37 BYD brand PV models registered from January to April. In 2021, 9 PHEVs, 17 BEVs and 11 petroleum fuel vehicles will be included. During the same period in 2022, the number of BEV models increased to 21. In particular, four newcomers, Dolphin, Qin PLUS EV, Yuan Pro EV, and Yuan PLUS all recorded over 18,000 April registrations. ..
Although the number of PHEV models has not changed, most of them achieved significant year-on-year growth with registration in April. Nonetheless, the April registrations for all major petroleum fuel models fell in the period a year ago.
By April 2022 registration, there were up to 18 NEV models among the top 20 BYD brand PV models, including 7 PHEVs and 11 BEVs.
Registered for January-April, the top 20 BYD PV models include four oil-powered models, namely Song Pro (15).th), BYD F3 (16)th), Song PLUS (17th), And Song MAX (19)th).

Tianjin was third and was also the highest city in northern China. Chengdu and Guangzhou were the top two state capitals.
Shanghai was not included in the top 20 cities in BYD brand PV’s April registration, but became the runner-up credit from January to April. register.
In the list of the top 20 cities from January to April, cities in northern China have five spots, namely Tianjin (4).th), Xian (6)th), Beijing (8th), Zhengzhou (11th), Qingdao (20)th), BYD’s PV was mainly sold to southern China.
