Honda Off-Road Racing Team Talon Takes Top 2 Podium in 2022 Mint 400

Las Vegas, Nevada

The Mintha 400, Great American Offroad Race in 2022 proved to challenge some of the best offroad racers and vehicles again. This year, Honda Talon, campaigned by the Honda Off-Road Factory Racing Team, took third of the top eight in the UTV Pro NA class. 1925, driven by Zack Sizelab, occupies the top spot, with Ebert Ebert in second place, Elias Hannah in 1957, and Elias Hannah in 1920. The race course covered four laps of rough and dusty 95.4 miles, just south of Las Vegas, Nevada, attracting 382 entries and thousands of spectators.

The Honda Off-Road Factory Racing Team, led by Team Principal Jeff Proctor, has included two factory drivers, Zack Sizelab and Eliashannah, and team-developed driver Ethan Evert in 21 entries in the UTV Pro NA class. UTV competitors. They competed in the Limited Race on Friday, March 11th. Hannah and Sizelab started in 51st and 52nd, respectively, and Evert started in 42nd.

Size Love talks about a nearly perfect race day: My plan to take part in the race was to set the first three laps to a fast and stable pace and, if necessary, to increase the pace on the last lap. There were many cars running at high speed from the start, but I knew that the race would not end, so I concentrated on myself and did not affect the running. Sure enough, I was running in 2nd place by the 3rd lap. Honda Talon was solid and I still felt he could be abused much more than he was giving, so I charged on the last lap. I overtook the number one car per 360 miles and never looked back. Honda Talon was perfect all day long. The only problem we had was a flat tire on lap three. Even after crossing the finish line, I think the car was able to start the whole race again! “

Sizelab finished at 9:10:19, Evert was late at 9:12:47, and Hannah was late at 11:10:47.

“It was a dream race day for Honda Talon,” said Proctor. “Each driver drove a strategic race. They were confident in Honda Talon and bowed down to drive their race. And I can be even more proud of Ethan. I couldn’t. On my third start with the team, at just 15 years old, he was on the podium. I’m really excited to see how Ethan grows as a driver. To be honest, The way Zack and Elias made Talon progress in a short period of time was very rewarding for all of us. Everything from preparation to training to pre-running is working hard. They are definitely theirs. Get the top finish and deserve it. “

Sizelove adds: Nothing is more mentally focused or numb to the pain your body is feeling than running for hours or hours. This was essential as the Mint 400 is a very rough and long race. Therefore, it is important to be able to block the pain that the body feels. “

The result was not the same as the No. 709 Honda Ridgeline team, with Jeff Proctor holding the steering wheel and Evan Weller navigating. Despite an impressive qualifying run in Unlimited Group 2’s fifth fastest time against a spec trophy truck, the Ridgeline started behind many late entries in the Unlimited Race on Saturday, March 12th. There was an orbital accident that resulted in the loss of a hood that affected the air flow in the ducts to cool the truck properly. They lasted for hours and laps and controlled engine temperature until both fans let go of the tough fourth lap DNF at a distance of just 70 miles for the team.

Next to the team is the 54th SCORE Baja 500 in June.
