CSBK: TSN Plan Expands Scope in 2022-Roadracing World Magazine

CSBK announces expanded TSN coverage for Canada’s Pro National in 2022

Toronto, Ontario – The Sports Network (TSN) has announced that it will expand the scope of the Canadian Superbike National Championship (CSBK) during the 2022 National Motorcycle Road Racing Season. TSN will broadcast 17 race action episodes in 2022. This is the most extensive coverage since the National Road Race Tour joined the network in 1995.

“This is a very exciting development for the series,” explains CSBK boss Colin Fraser. “The last two seasons have been complicated, but we’ve focused on the quality of video coverage, which worked well for the championship. Now, TSN has a strong series coverage in this enhanced broadcast format in 2022. I confirmed that. “

TSN is Canada’s sports leader, delivering world-class content across industry-leading platforms, including five national television feeds across Canada, TSN Direct, TSN.ca, and TSN Radio Station. TSN has partnered with the groundbreaking American broadcaster ESPN, and TSN is the Canadian home of several major motorsports, including F1 and NASCAR.

In 2022, TSN will broadcast all Pro Superbike functional races and all races in the Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike Middleweight Support category. This is the first time TSN has broadcast full race coverage for a professional sport bike class.

TSN will be the first three at the Grand Bend Motorplex from June 9th to 12th, the Calabogie Motorsports Park from July 8th to 10th, and the Atlantic Motorsports Park from July 21st to 24th. Broadcast two professional superbike races from each of the two events.

The final three Championship Pro Superbike races will be aired in the traditional CSBK Series finals at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park on August 12-14. In 2021, with the support of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), CSBK staged the first ever series triple header “Old Mosport” at CTMP.

Up to 2022 CSBK National Events, one professional Superbike race will be recorded on Saturday and the second on Sunday. In the final round of CTMP, there will be a Superbike qualifying session on Friday, one on Saturday and two Superbike races on the last Sunday afternoon of the 2022 season.

Last season, QC Desmaures’ Alexandre Dumas won the MPG / FAST Riding School Suzuki Canada Team’s Pro Superbike Championship and Canada’s overall title. 19-year-old Dumas is the youngest champion in the 42-year history of the CSBK series and was awarded the Brooklyn Cycle Racing Pro Rookie of the Year.

Ben Young, ON, the 2019 CSBK national number one collingwood, took second place overall in Vanderder’s home team BMW in 2021 and competed for the title with Dumas in the final 2021 round at Calabogie last September. I did. With Young’s CSBK efforts, the 2021 championship will take place in BMW’s in-house Motorrad Race Trophy series, where Young will compete on the newly approved M1000RR racer. This is his award for the success of the entire Trophy series.

The 2022 Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike CSBK Series will consist of two races at each national competition, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. The 8-race 2022 series offers the most championship events and the most video coverage in middleweight history.

The professional sport bike category is renowned for its close competition at the forefront of its class, but last season’s “Shaker”, Sebastian Trenbray of Laval, Quebec, dominated middleweight action. Tranbray won all four races with the Turcot Performance Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja, and the Montreal area tuning shop supported front runners in the sport bike category.

David McKay of Stony Creek, Ontario is second overall in the 2022 Pro Sport Bike Series points for another ninja, with CSBK returning to Grand Bend’s home track on the West Coast of Ontario to follow the series opener. I’m looking forward to it. Two-year layoff by COVID.
