The 2024 Lexus LS full-size sedan rolls into the new year with more standard tech but a corresponding price hike of $3,100 from the 2023 Lexus flagship sedan. The updated LS costs $80,685, including a $1,350 destination fee, Lexus announced Wednesday.  New standard features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen (there’s still an analog clock) with wireless smartphone connectivity and a wireless smartphone charger, a head-up display, digital key with subscription, and the latest upgrades to the brand’s suite of driver-assist technology it dubs Safety System+ 3.0. That includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, active lane control, limited hands-free driving, an emergency stopping system if the driver is unresponsive, and traffic sign recognition.  New and expensive color options have been added, including a Silver Illusion coat that costs an extra $3,100.  A hybrid or gas powertrain carry over for 2024. UPDATE: Honda’s U.S. PR team clarified its announcement on the Prelude , and turns out, it’s not fully electric. Instead, it’s powered by a hybrid-electric powertrain, so expect an engine under that long hood and some unknown array of electric motors, as well. Our updated, original story continues below. When Honda announced it would show something sporty in Tokyo, we jumped to thoughts of the NSX and S2000 . But Honda has instead revived the Prelude name for what we initially believed to be an electric concept. However, Honda’s U.S. PR team later clarified that the Prelude you’re looking at here is powered by a hybrid-electric powertrain. Third-quarter earnings season continued last week with Ally Financial , Bank of America , Citizens , Fifth Third , Huntington Bank , Truist and U.S. Bank all reporting. Results were mixed as Ally and Bank of America reported year-over-year increases in their auto portfolio of 2.1% and 6.5%, respectively. U.S. Bank tallied the greatest decline in outstandings, falling 54.4% YoY to $10.6 billion. Citizens continued to run off its auto book after exiting indirect auto lending in June, declining 29.5% YoY to $9.3 billion. Of the banks that reported origination numbers, Bank of America was the only institution to see an increase, rising 15.3% YoY to $6.8 billion. Credit performance continued to deteriorate during the quarter as each bank that broke out delinquencies recorded a year-over-year increase. Although Bank of America did not break out delinquency numbers, net charge-offs increased 13 basis points (bps) YoY to 0.2%. Meanwhile, in subprime auto asset-backed se
