Volkswagen Recalls Over 23,000 Electric Vehicles in US Due to Flammable Interior Materials

San Francisco, November 19: German automaker Volkswagen has recalled 100 per cent of the ID.4 electric vehicles (EVs) in the US due to the flammability of interior materials, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). According to the documents, the automaker will recall 23,883 ID.4 vehicles, also noted as “100 per cent of estimated percentage with defect”, because the material of the roller sunshades may not consistently meet the FMVSS 302 performance requirements, reports Teslarati. “Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2023-2024 ID.4 vehicles. The interior sunshade for the panoramic glass roof may be insufficiently fire retardant. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 302, ‘Flammability of Interior Materials’,” the document reads.  India Sees Over 120% Growth in Electric Vehicles, Hybrid Vehicles Surge 400%. Law firm launches legal action over F1 Las Vegas GP spectator ejections

It is asking for payments of “in excess” of $30,000 per spectator, split equally between “general” and “special” damages. After Thursday’s incident involving Carlos Sainz led to first practice being stopped , there was a lengthy delay while water valve covers were checked. FP2 was supposed to start at midnight, and it finally got underway at 0230 . However, the venue was cleared of spectators at 0130  due to staffing and security issues. On Friday, spectators affected were offered a $200 voucher to be spent at the venue’s merchandise sites. Later on Friday evening, the Dimopoulos law firm working in conjunction with JK Legal & Consulting filed a class action on behalf of the 35,000 spectators it says were at the track on Thursday. The action states that “the lawsuit alleges breach of contract, negligence, and deceptive trade practices against the defendants”, who are the Las Vegas GP and TAB Contractors Inc, the company involved with maintaining the track. Shares of Volvo listed in Stockholm closed the session down 11% after trimming some losses. The stock price had fallen by as much as 14% earlier in the day and hit a record low, according to Reuters data. Volvo shares are down nearly 25% year to date. Geely said in a statement earlier on Friday that it would release further shares of Volvo, which was in line with its long-term strategy. It said the move was designed to increase liquidity of Volvo and “offer more opportunities to generate sustainable long-term value for institutional and retail investors.” Geely will still hold 78.7% of Volvo shares following the sale, the statement said. 2024 Nissan Armada Base Price Increased By $4,750

As automakers want to emphasize higher-margin vehicles, we’re seeing more and more base trims removed from model lineups. The Nissan Armada is the latest vehicle to follow suit, with the entry-level S model conspicuously absent from the 2024 model’s press release. As a result, the now-base SV trim carries a hefty $4,750 increase over the 2023 model. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Nissan Armada’s price increase. More and more automakers are leveraging their higher-end models, meaning consumers get more features, but at a higher price. Nissan has been getting in on this trend, ditching the Murano’s entry-level trim for the 2024 model year. Now, they’re following suit with their largest SUV. 2024 marks the end of the entry-level Nissan Armada S. While the base model Armada might not necessarily be mourned by many, its departure makes for a significant shift in the full-size SUV’s packaging. Even though the remaining SV and higher trims received a reasonable $150 p

Lucid Gravity, VW ID.7, Tesla Cybertruck: The Week In Reverse

The Lucid Gravity debuted, we tested the 2025 Volkswagen ID.7, and a Tesla Cybertruck buyers agreement received changes. It’s the Week in Reverse, right here at Motor Authority. The Lucid Gravity electric three-row SUV debuted at the 2023 Los Angeles auto show. When it finally starts sales at the end of 2024, it will offer over 800 hp, over 440 miles of range, and a starting price of less than $80,000. The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 7 continued testing on public roads. This electric three-row SUV will serve as the automaker’s flagship EV when it arrives in 2024. Prototypes show that the Ioniq 7 will feature a design similar to that of the Seven concept shown at the 2021 L.A. auto show. We drove the 2025 Volkswagen ID.7 in its European specification. As EVs flood into the market, the ID.7 serves as a reminder that an electric hatchback can be a quiet, efficient cruiser with plenty of creature comforts. 2025 Subaru Forester debuts at Los Angeles Auto Show

Image
Subaru Forester lovers rejoice, thy time is nigh! The sixth generation of Subaru’s popular compact crossover will come to market in spring of next year as a 2025 model. While the little SUV looks to get improvements in looks and tech, we’re not sure it will make gains in the performance category. The 2025 Forester will be available in Base, Premium, Sport, Limited and Touring trims.  The staid front fascia of the last generation is gone, replaced with a face that just might be a bit polarizing. If you like lights, it’s probably your jam. Thin daytime running lights sit atop round projector headlamps with additional lights on the lower bumper. I kind of dig it, but some might find it a tad busy. Subaru has also added an air outlet on the trapezoidal fenders for better aerodynamics. The company’s press release says it contributes to “…reduced lift on the front tires.” I don’t think that’s ever been much of a problem on the Forester, but you do you, Subie. 2025 Subaru Forester
