New location but no big delay for Red Bull F1 wind tunnel

The world champion squad had originally planned to build a brand new facility at its base, which it felt was needed to keep the team at the cutting edge of F1 car development over the long term. A site near its technology campus had been sorted and the team had formally applied for planning permission for construction to go ahead. However, as part of major ongoing developments at Milton Keynes in the wake of the construction of a new Red Bull Powertrains facility and more factory expansion, the team has elected to now slightly shift the location of the planned wind tunnel. The change, which will put the facility in a more suitable location, means that the original planning permission is no longer valid and has been withdrawn. It is understood that fresh paperwork will now be prepared to be submitted for approval. While this new process will take some time, the team believes that the change of location will not actually have much of an impact on when the facility should be up-and-

Tesla discloses DOJ probes over vehicle range, personal benefits

Brandon Bell | Getty Images In a third-quarter financial filing out Monday, Tesla disclosed that the U.S. Department of Justice has been investigating, and in some cases issued subpoenas, to Elon Musk’s automaker regarding its driver assistance systems marketed as Autopilot and Full Self-Driving, or FSD, options; the range of the company’s electric vehicles; as well as “personal benefits, related parties,” and “personnel decisions” at the company. The specific related parties were not listed in the filing. The term generally refers to a company’s executives, directors, largest shareholders and sometimes to other businesses they own. The Wall Street Journal  reported in August that federal prosecutors  were investigating whether Tesla used company funds to design and build a “glass house project” for Musk. Last year, Reuters reported that a federal criminal investigation was underway concerning

Tesla Will Lose Money On Every Cybertruck

After numerous delays and setbacks, Tesla has hit another obstacle with the wonky Cybertruck. During the automaker’s third-quarter earnings call with analysts and investors, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the brand is looking at an additional 18 months until it can reach original Cybertruck production figures, claims Wards Auto . Additionally, the outlet claims that the official launch of the Cybertruck will take place this November. If Tesla and Musk actually hit the November date for the launch of the Cybertruck , it will mark roughly four years of waiting since the first time the Cybertruck made its debut. Unfortunately, it looks like the rollout of the production versions of the Cybertruck are going to be incredibly limited. Musk doesn’t think Tesla will be able to hit its annual figure of 250,000 units for another 18 months. So, Tesla fans with reservations and other people who have been waiting to get a Cybertruck are going to be waiting a very, very long time . Last we hea

Take a tour of Rimac’s factory from home

After pandemic-related delays, the Rimac Nevera entered production in 2022 at a new factory just outside of Zagreb, Croatia. Rimac recently provided a peek inside the factory in the form of a drone fly around. At just over a minute and a half, this is one of the quickest factory tours you can experience. It starts out in the company offices, moves to the assembly area, and finishes at the quality control areas where cars are checked out before shipment. Unveiled in 2021, the Nevera production line was designed to complete 50 cars per year, Rimac previously said, meaning it will take three years to complete the planned 150-unit production run. Each car takes five weeks to assemble. The first production car was unveiled in July 2022, with the first customer car delivered to F1 champion Nico Rosberg the following month. The Nevera is the production version of the Rimac C_Two concept that first appeared at the 2018 Geneva auto show, and successor to the Rimac Concept_One, Rimac’s fi
